Lt1 no start

Allright guys, this is continuation from the granatelli thread. I checked fuel pressure today. It jumped straight to 45 when the key was hit and then settled around 43. I also took the icm in and had it tested. They tested it ten times in a row and no issues. The one thing that concerns me is, I pulled the plug wire off the spark plug and placed in another spark plug and had my dad crank it over. It sparks, but looks almost yellow/orange, not the good blue color it should be. I tried a coup[le different plugs same result. I'm pretty sure it's ignition related at this point since I have good fuel pressure. I have a msd blaster coil on now and even tried the original and it still won't start. So now the question is will a faulty opti cause this weak spark? Like I sai in the previous thread I just replaced the cap and rotor with a msd, but didn't change the optical portion. I did loctite the rotor also. I'm thinkin the opti crapped out what do you guys think? Anything else that would cause the weak spark. Also the only code I retrieved was po 300 multiple missfire. Need help this thing is drivin me nuts.

Unhappy Re: Lt1 no start

As far as I know, the only one I would have taken off was the one by the coil and I'm pretty sure It's tight. Like I said in the previous thread whatever happened came on quick. The first time I started it after the Cai upgrade it ran fine. Then the next day I went to drive it it ran like crap and kept getting worse to now where it won't start. Still need to check that the objectors are pulsing, however I beloved it is spark relates at this point. And with a yellowish spark I know it isn't throwing the heat. Like I said I even tried the old coil and that didn't work so I don't think its the coil either.

Re: Lt1 no start

A problem with the optical cam position sensor won't cause a weak spark. And, a problem with the optical sensor will set a code.

Re: Lt1 no start

If something was wrong with the cap it would cause a weak spark correct?

Re: Lt1 no start

Could be. The Opti high voltage section is just like any other distributor. Corroded wires/terminals, cracks, dielectric breakdown of the insulation the separates the internal conductors that route the contacts to the side terminals, burned terminals or rotor, faulty bearing (but that's in the part you didn't replace).
