Jag is finally all done and all bugs worked out!
i want to take this opportunity to thank anyone that answered my questions along the way, especially Fred!. He was invaluable in helping me sort out my issues and getting me on then road.

Well, i spoke too soon! Took car on a 30 mile drive to a car show, while driving its perfect, but idle is hunting and getting a hesitation off the line, no cel, and otherwise fine, hooked up laptop this morning to try to log it, and now starter is dead!! I have no stored codes in pcm.
Starter is no big deal, it was one of the things on my list to swap out as i have no idea of age, etc,
i guess now i wait.....
