Just so im clear on this, vats will let the engine crank, it only disables the injectors? The fuel pump will run, the starter will crank?

Re: LT1 injector failure.. please help

ok. i have not tried the nyod light. i have not ran a code scan. i have to trailer the car to get the code scanned and i rented a nyod light today.

i have a list of things programmed out on my pcm, and vats was turned off. to answer speedy, no the security light doesnt blink, come on, nothing. .88 was the resistance i measured at the key pellet with a multimeter but i have learned that it was on the wrong setting. also i tested the injectors to see if one was bad, shbox, mentioned that all injectors had to be within .05 of each other. all tested 13.5.
on my 95 manual car the GM tech i talked to says vats shuts off fuel, but since vats was programmed out it isnt the problem. i will post the results of scan test and nyod lights encase anyone else is having or has this issue. any other suggestions or things i havent tried yet or checked please let me know. thanks much appreciated

Here's the diagram for 95 (93/94 similar). VATS interupts both the starter (via the TDM signal to the TDR - theft deterent relay) and the fuel (via the TDM fuel enable signal to the PCM).

Re: LT1 injector failure.. please help

Thanks Injuneer, I was certain that the TDM would also shut down the starter on my 95 T/A, and this confirms it. Assuming all of the circuits are making a good connection, would it even be possible for the TDM to enable the TDR, yet not send the fuel enable to the PCM? There is no way to tell if the 2 signals are sent by the same place internally in the TDM. I used to assume that if the car would crank, then it wasn't the VATS stopping it from starting. I just want to know if that is a false assumption.

Re: LT1 injector failure.. please help

ok got some news. i got a noyd light, tested all 8 injector harness. i am getting pulse. the light isnt bright but does come on and pulse. so i took a positive to 1 terminal and negative to other terminal of the injectors and no click. injectors are locked up. so all day they have been soaking in sea foam and parts cleaner (as suggested). i did get 2 of them to click. im trying a friends spare set of injectors just for reassurance. its crazy that all of them was locked up but glad to be making progress. this has been 1 hell of a learning experience for me.
ok so my new question is what injectors is best. i will be upgrading to afr heads, and comp cam xfi 292 kit in the fall. i would like to buy injectors for that application.
