LT1 with hot cam vs. stock LS1

Can an LT1 with a hot cam, cai, and cat back run the same or better than
a stock LS1 with the same tranny and gears?

I would give the lt1 the advantage over the stock ls1...unless it was one of those freak ls1's that dyno 325 to the wheels stock.

Re: LT1 with hot cam vs. stock LS1

if i can run the average LS1 with my mods i think you should be able to with that cam... but those freaks are annoying..one of them beat me by .1 in the 1/8 errrr if only it wasnt spinning second

(also he was running on an 02 LS1 motor in 98 camaro.. with "only a catback") but what do LS1's usually run in the 1/8? most i saw were running around 9 and this one hit consistent 8.7x on a 1.9 60' while i was running anywhere from an 8.8 to a 9.1 depending on where i was in the lane when it hit 2nd =/

Re: LT1 with hot cam vs. stock LS1

my buddys 02 Z28 M6 with only a Magnaflow cat back and really crappy conditions went 13.2 @ 110 with a 60' of 2.1- 1/8 (8.7 @86). That was on a real bad set of tires. The car would have hit the 12s had the track not had a 53* temp and 97% relative humidity. I spun going into 4th gear pretty bad...
