oK guys i have been driving and racing my LT1 T/A for 8yrs so I have a few opti probelms but not very many. I have been having the ignition breakup around 6500-6600. SO i short shift the car at 6400 and it ran 10.80's but i would like to fix the problem. I would also like to be able to turn 7200-7300rpms but I don't have the cash to go with Big stuff 3 or Fast XFI so I was thinking of going Delteq or LS1 conversion PCM when this came to mind. How about buy an Acell pro ram intake, install an MSD distributor in the back and run just the igniton off that. If you hookup power, ground, MSD coil and 6AL it would have to fire the the engine. I would leave the opti hooked up for the PCM. That is what Delteq and LTCC are doing right? What is a good small distributor that fits under the cowl and would work with what I am tgrying to do? Thanks Clint
Your limitation to spin over 7K is the PCM itself. The LT1 PCM will not operate over 7K rpms no matter what else you do; you will need a piggyback or stand-alone to do that. A LSx PCM may work, but I don't know.
The Delteq/LTCC just remove the Hi-voltage from the Optispark and generate the hi-voltage a different way.

Well for now I am just swapping to 3.73 gears, putting my Competition engineering shocks on and turning on the bottle to see what it will do. I should be able to run 140+mph before the limiter comes into play. I will keep my eyes open for a dynaspark or a good used fast setup. Later Clint
