LT1 Crankshaft Hub

Planning on fixing this timing cover oil leak finally. Was going to replace the crankshaft hub since i think one of the ears on it has been slightly bent for the last 30k miles. Can't seem to find the stock style three eared one anywhere. Anyone have any suggestions on a good hub? Not talking the most expensive just a mid level one. Thanks

I would not go with anything other than ati. You definitely do not want a underdrive hub and most others out there are junk.

If I'm reading his post correctly, he just wants a replacement hub, not a complete damper/pulley assembly.

Check Thunder Racing. I believe they sell keyed hubs. You don't have to use the key. $85 though.

The 94s don't use keyed hubs? They just press on there in no particular orientation other than straight on? Yes injuneer i have a fairly new (1 yr old) stock damper.

The ones from thunder racing bolt right up to the stock damper?

The factory hub is not keyed on all LT1s. It is only press-fit.

So to make sure I understand this, it doesnt matter how it goes on? No orientation to worry about?

If you look at the damper, there is a cast arrow. It is there for timing purposes (finding TDC, etc), but in no way is it absolutely necessary to keep it in any particular orientation.

Thanks, I needed to know that. The last time I changed my opti I was going to change the timing gear set too but I couldnt figure out how to get the hub back on in the same place if I took it off, so I didnt change them.
What the heck, it only has 260,000 miles on it, should be good for another few thousand.
