lt1 black oil on initial break in

ok so the first time i ran my motor the tune was for stock injectors and i have 30 lb so it was running rich. i now have the correct tune and new o2 sensors and ran the motor for a little bit today trying to trouble shoot and i noticed that the oil is BLACK. is this from the previous incorrect tune? did i do any damage?
tomorrow i plan to change the oil and put fresh gas with octane booster

also , it is throwing codes for MAF and TPS.

This really doesn't belong in this forum. Does the oil smell like fuel? I would change the oil just to be safe and the octane booster isn't necessary if you use premium unleaded. If you ran it for a short time, you should be ok.

yeah there is deffinately fuel in the oil. the motor was run less than 20 minutes, it suprised me how black it was for that short period of run time

That is heavily over fueled, certainly enough to do damage over the long term. I don't know if anyone can say if 20 minutes was enough.

What are the exact codes for the maf and tps? Have you checked the connections to make sure everything is on tight and there is no damage to anything?

Re: lt1 black oil on initial break in

Give us the background on this engine. Is it a rebuilt engine, a short block, a long block? Who assembled it? After assembly, was it run in for an hour and the oil drained and the filter changed? Was the filter opened up to look for metal particles? What type of assembly lube was used?

I would take a sample and get a used oil analysis (UOA). That will tell you if the "black" is composed of bearing materials.
