lt1 balancer???? carb related stuff inside
ok got the balancer need for carb conversion and woodruff key. anyone know of pulley that will work 6rib off of another chevy with serpeten(sp) belt 3bolt just looking for a model to search in junk yard
i did the intake (victor jr knock off) myself drilling the new holes for lt1 and it was a pita. now just need some jb weld for the cover up the old holes.
ported the heads and installed some manley springs for my comp 306 cam.
should have car done in less than 2 months still need carb , distributor, msd box , long tubes. and do some wiring.
for fuel system i am going to run stock pump and lines. i will use 2 regulators for fuel. 1 set at 15 psi with return stright to tank (factory return to tank)the other line will go to other regulator set to 6.5 psi to carb. wiring pump to on/off switch
i think i will be able to use some of the factory gauges. took wiring harness apart and kept all sensors not related to pcm.
if anyone has any info on carb lt1 swap post it here. lets make a good thread on the subject since ther is not ant really good info in the search section.

Re: lt1 balancer???? carb related stuff inside
I'm in the process of doing the same thing. I already have everything buttoned up except the fuel system, which I will be doing this weekend I think. I am going to use a single regulator down to about 10 psi to the carb. The regulator that I purchased is an aeromotive and it is good to 100 psi and 450 gph, so it should take care of the stock pump fine.
I am using the gmpp carb intake, a MSD 85551 distributor, MSD 6al ignition and blaster coil. I have a holley 750 vacuum secondary carb and I am going to have to run a carb hat for induction. I am leaving the stock computer setup in place because I am too lazy to change it out. I also may want to go back to FI at some point. Just trying something new right now, and I have always had good luck with carbs. Oh yeah, I am also using the cc306 cam but I have edelbrock shortys because I couldn't pass them up for 50 bucks. At some later date, it may get long tubes.

Why would you need to change the balancer ??
I didn't change anything on Heathers conversion except for the intake and fuel delivery system.

i just really wanted to get away from a balancer with out a woodruff key to hold balancer in place.i plan on alot of dragracing and high rpm launches so i figured the factory balancer would slip and timing would then be off.
