Cool Lt1

i have a 1998 V6 camaro that i just put a pontiac formula lt1 in, its kinda short on space is there any way i can get a cold air intake in there, and is it a problem if my mass air flow sensor is not hooked up? And does anyone have an idea what the stock Hp would be on the 97 formula?

If the MAF Sensor isn't hooked up, it has Speed Density.

I'd just put a LS1 Lid on it.

The LS1 cars have an airbox that sits on the radiator support, the MAF on the outlet of the airbox, and a rubber bellows from the MAF to the throttle body. If you put that setup on your car, there are a number of improvements available, including high flow "lids" (covers) for the air box, the "free ram air" modification, and cold air ducting kits from Fast Toys or SLP.

The only difference you would run into by having an LT1 in a 98 chassis, and using the LS1 airbox would be the fact the LS1 throttle body is round and the LT1 throttle body is oval. Use the Fernco 3x3 sewer pipe connector from the MAF to the throttle body, and it should work fine.

96-97 LT1s received a bump in power to 285hp over the previous 275 in the earlier years.
