Re: Ls1 to Lt1 battle

one thing i can say for an LT1, i can look into the parts trader and fine one under 2 grand. I cant say that for an LS1. But there is a good reason why :] Im glad that the LS1 is around, i hope the LS2 kills it though, we just need more stuff to throw at ricers to get them off the racing scene :] Power to domestics the whole way :]

But they still get better times then the LS1 and I for one never said otherwise.

You need to reread some previous posts here and see how a few LT1 guys are still angry that the LS1 was created. Are you one of them?
i wasn't referring to you, but if i hit a nerve then some truth must be in there.

also, where in any of my posts do i say anything negative or "angry' about the LS1? you need to re-read what i wrote and you will see that in my very first post i stated "the LS1 is superior to the LT1." the problem in this thread is not that at all, it's a few people revering the LS1 as if it's god, it has over 370-400 hp stock and it's basically just as good as an LS2, none of which is true. that's like me saying a stock LT1 has 330-350 hp stock. total crap.

There is no truth there and I sinister triple dog dare you to try and prove otherwise

I'm just fine with the LS2 engine. I would prefer myself to surpass it and go onto a LS7 but that's just me.

But as for your remarks about the LS1 making 370-400 rwhp I agree. I call on that myself. They make 340-360 FWHP.

AMEN !

I would love to own a 02 Silver WS6, 6 speed (of course).

It's all about the Hood !

I like my 94 Z with ZR1 style rims and 98-02 SS rear spoiler, but to own a last year built "WS6" would be great .

Oh yeah, My friend with a 02 Formula ran a 12.700 (12.700, not 12.7xx) at 109 or 110 and did so with a lid, K&N filter, cutout and Drag radials.

I am bolt-ons only, with A4 and 3.42 gears running 13.5xx or slower at times.

There's this thing called preference. GM could create a 1,000 horse devastating machine from the factory and this wouldn't change the fact that import guys or "ricers" as you say prefer their cars over fbodies and mustangs alike. There are some highly respectable imports out there, and there are quite a few I like, but my love is in the F bodies. Its all in fun anyway. I love muscle cars and I agree I hope GM keeps making more and more, but not to get rid of the imports, but rather to add to the plethora of platforms out there to experiment with and compete against.

Re: Ls1 to Lt1 battle

our LS1 produced 407 hp at 5,500 rpm and 409 lbs.-ft. at 5,000 rpm.
that's from a Super chevy article. That's at the crank with a TB, and longtube headers.

Re: Ls1 to Lt1 battle

If you think about this LT1 vs LS1 battle...
Who's better? Who's faster?

Is just like older brother, younger brother sibbling rivalry. If it wasn't for the LT1 They're would be no LS1, if not for the LS1 there would be no LS2.

Does it really matter, each engine has something great to offer, all that counts is that we came from GM, and are great cars.....bottom line.

Re: Ls1 to Lt1 battle

this quote from one of the guys on another forum sums it up best:

"No way dude...i saw an LS1 fight godzilla and the LS1 beat godzilla and it looked in the air and was like what do you think of that god? And god was like bring it bitch, so they fought and the LS1 beat god and now the LS1 is god because its the greatest thing ever"

Re: Ls1 to Lt1 battle

Well Lets see here

Is there a F body that runs 9.30's with less than 400 cubes all motor... YUP Joe Overton , LT1

Street driven 9 second, all motor, Mindgame, LT1

Six speed streetcar in the 8's, Taner, LT1

Big Rick Intrau, turbo 396 LT1 8.08 on "w" tires, only a tenth slower than the almighty LS1 Blower car that was the first in the 7's, Rick ran the 8.08 only after a month or so with that combination and is now selling it.

Of course I am Biased, I am building a LT1 car.

No kidding! This has got to be the longest ongoing internet battle in the enthusiast forums that I've ever known of...Don't you guys honestly EVER get tired of this silly debate??? They are both GREAT motors IMO (I have one of each right now). Yeah, if I had to choose, I'd take any LS1 over the LT1...But you really can't go wrong either way...Just depends upon what you want out of your car...

BTW, we've got to find a way (maybe a sticky) that will help the newbies with this so these threads stop...

Re: Ls1 to Lt1 battle

That is why these LS-1 Vs. The world posts belong in the lounge. You never learn anything from them. Just about how So and So does this and that and is running this in a place of the world we've never been to.

There should be a forum called LS-1 Vs. The world and all the LS-1 Vs. Whatever post can be added there. This is the 100th LS-1 Vs. LT-1 post probably this year on this site.. and like the others they nefver end up more exciting than they started..there's no point to them.
