LPE cam...How good is it?

I have a Lt1 and would like to do a cam swap and hear a lot of guys talkin bout the crane ,comp and hot cams, but what about the LPE 74211 cam for lt1's? Is it any good? anyone running it? I'm in california and want to be able to pass smog? I want a pretty smooth idle if possible not to loppy. Guys really need your ideas. not lookin to be to radical but want some nice pic up and dyno #'s.

i dont have much experience with other companies.. but the cc305 is a pretty good cam (along with cc306) cc304 is decent but you already have a higher stall converter..

any partcular reason you upgraded from 2.73s or 3.23s to the 3.42s instead of 3.73s?

IMO, Lingenfelter's cams are over priced...check out www.cmotorsports.com they have everything you need.

Yes, they are overpriced but for a smallish cam, my friend put down 360 rwhp/360 tq with unported afr 195 lt4 heads on his stock short block and a 58mm throttlebody. Car was a 94 formula, m6 with 4.10 gears and he passed nj's im240 smog test with no problem.

The cam is the 74211, it has 530/560 lift w/1.6 rockers and 211/219 duration, lobe center is 112.

Thumbs up

The cam is a good choice ... My car put down 367rwhp at LPE on their dyno with that cam and their heads ... I have since changed cams to G.M. 847 cam which is more lift and alot more duration but streetability is not the came if i had to do it again i would leave LPEs cam in but IMO dont let them tune it they are to conservitive on the tune but the nice thing is you will pass emmisions... My car also got 22mpg or the highway coming back from LPE .......
