Lowering compression?
Lowering compression?
Alright guys, I am a novice at engine stuff (at least on v8s). I have edelbrock heads w/ 1.6RR and a cc306 cam waiting to go on. My problem is i have flat-top pistons, so right now id be at about 13.2:1 compression. The car is a DD so I'd like to get down to 11:1 or so. How can I go about doing this other than having the chambers milled out bigger. The chambers are 54CC.

How did you get to 13.2:1..... strictly because of the lack of valve reliefs? What are the other specs on the engine.... deck height, gasket thickness, gasket diameter, etc? Have you experienced problems with knock retard? Have you calculated the dynamic compression ratio?
