Low RPM chug

I just had my motor rebuilt and after I put about 600miles on it, when I'm at lower RPM's under 1700 or so it jerks the car really bad, but after 2k it acts normal. It gets worse as the car heats up more and more. The car has 131k miles on everything else cept well the tires, But it's never done this before. My theories were, clogged fuel filter, clogged injector, bad injector, lack of spark, or a fouled plug. If anyone could gimme some better input on what it might be before I start throwing money at things it ain't I'd appretiate it.

Edit: It also studders once or twice at random times under hard acceleration too, I was also considering perhaps it's a vacuum issue

Re: Low RPM chug

Sounds like you have cam surge; this can be programmed out with tuning; talk with your tuner.

Re: Low RPM chug

It JUST started for 500 miles it wasn't there, and Ion MadZ28 tuned my PCM for the CC306. I thought it might have been that but that's why I got tuned lol, but to be honest, I have never experienced cam surge before but if I had to guess what it was, that is what this feels like. Cause after 1700-2000 rpm's it just surges into *** kicking mode...

I would start with plugs and fuel filter and then go from there. Eliminate the cheapest problem ideas first. You will be surprised what a fuel filter will do to a car. It does sound like you have a little bit of cam surge too. May want to have your car tuned on a dyno, or by someone in person.

Nice setup by the way.

Re: Low RPM chug

Well, I've been running a lot of Injector cleaner through it, like a bottle for the last 5 tanks, and I was curious if that raised the octane level any and since my MSD box isn't hooked back up yet, if perhaps I wasn't getting enough spark at low RPM's. Yes I love the setup has a nice lobe at idle, and it was really fun wiping the grin off the kid with the SRT-10 Ram

Re: Low RPM chug

What octane do you run through it from the pump? I run 92+. I don't think the octane would have anything to do with a low RPM stumble unless you are running a low octane. I would check the fuel filter, and some plugs first.

Love the CC306 cam! Its awesome to see people drop their jaws when the power band kicks in at 3500 RPMs and you scream by. I have an e-cutout, so thats even a little more fun.

Re: Low RPM chug

Anyone else have any input? I'm gonna change the plugs and fuel filter once it cools down a bit it's like 98 degrees in the shade outside.
