Re: Low dyno numbers. Any ideas??

I was thinking maybe I just need to break in motor more too. I'll put at least 700 miles on it and take it back, see if I pull any more hp.

Is that SPEC stage 1 rated to hold that kind of power? Maybe its slipping. I know I bought a stage 1 replacement clutch and it couldn't take the power of what my car put out with minimal boltons. Now my stage IV spec does it right

I think the stage 1 is rated to 400hp. So If my motor is putting out 400 and clutch is slipping maybe thats where I get 333. I don't know. I'll get into it more in depth when I get the car out this spring. Maybe it will be better after clutch and motor are broken in.

back to my original question what catback do you have? And I doubt the clutch is your issue I'm running on a stock LUK at the moment.

I just have the stock exhaust through a flowmaster 80series. No cat.

Get longtubes and a borla or loudmouth. I think you have a flow restriction problem. I know for a fact you can at least get 19 20 horses out of long tubes. I dynoed 290 321 torque with no headers, but a borla catback. Then I put the headers on and dynoed 310 338 torque and that was with original opti... and lt1 edit... My freind has a 306 and he dynoed about the same no heads and rockers and that 306 was on a 114 lsa and edelebrock shorties.

I doubt his clutch is slipping, unless he's launching the s**t out of the car on the dyno repeatedly and building up heat, which is doubtful. My RAM clutch, rated to 400 HP, has held close to 500 FWHP and well over 500 FWTQ just fine on many occasions. I think there's something else going on here.

Theres your problem right there mine is the same only through cats. I gained 25 rwhp on the dyno from a cutout after the cats. Heres the dyno cutout open and closed and theres some issues above 5000 rpms.

Ok maybe I'll try the catback this spring when I get some cash. Then longtubes down the road. I have a manual cutout sitting in the garage maybe I'll put it in too.

I think I am finally going to be putting that 3" electric cut-out that I bought off you on the car, lol. It should be done soon.

Sorry back on topic:

There is deffinately somethink wrong there, one of my friends has the CC306 with some bolt-ons and stock manifolds that dynoed 347/350.

I had a VERY similar setup. CC306, stock heads, stock rockers, 941 springs, MAC mids, hooker catback with muffler unbolted... car put down 346 with minimal tuning.
