Low Coolant light???? WTF????

My low coolant light has came on the last 2 mornings when I started up my car. I know I have plent of coolant and the temps of the car seem to be normal. Is it a bad sensor or something????

Thanks,

Mike

Probably just a bad sensor. It's on the radiator underneath the fill neck...it's easier to get to if you take the battery out.

You can try cleaning it, but that didn't fix mine...I still need a new one.

I'm just going to unplug mine, unless someone knows of an adverse effect it might have

Thanks alot for the quick reply. I'll for sure try it. I figured it was the sensor since it's been so tempermental (sp). Thanks again!

Later,

Mike

Suggestion: change the sensor; it's a piece of cake. Located in the backside of the radiator, passenger side. Remove battery for easy access. Remove radiator cap, place rags below sensor location to prevent coolant from getting on Opti, disconnect sensor wire, remove old one (just slides out w/ a little effort and slight twisting back and forth to loosen-no screws, etc), slide new one in place, reconnect wire, remove rags, replace coolant & battery, and drive! Sensor available from any GM dealer, <$50.00. IMO, better safe than sorry.
Thanks!
