i have the dual tube. Like i said, it pretty much just "sips" at the initial opening of the throttle.

i also just remembered i still havent deleted that stupid donkey dong. Im gonna try that tomorrow i think.

Then get rid of that stock intake elbow because that thing will kill your sound, and do not replace it with a rubber one because a metal will have a better sound. Then get 58mm tb and port the intake if you like and bam you will have that air intake scream. Trust me this works because I use the same setup on my car and it sounds like a darn vacum cleaner is under the hood. Do not descreen your Maf those wires are very sensitive and that screen is in there to protect it.
would a 58mm tb hurt mileage at all? Ill consider porting the intake when i take it off to do the cam a long time from now.

I'm sure that's most of your "problem". You probably already know, but that stupid donkey dong plastic piece in the stock intake elbow is a silencer. Either plug it, or get a 1LE, Vortech, Trick Flow - whatever elbow. If you have a TB airfoil, that probably makes things a bit quieter if anything, but an airfoil improves airflow. Louder isn't necessarily better. With that being said, my setup = K&N FIPK - Stock MAF w/screen - 1LE elbow - 52mm TB w/airfoil doesn't "whistle" or anything. However, you can definitely tell air is movin' pretty well in there.

Re: loudest intake setup?

I just put in my slp intake the other day and I hardly hear a difference. If someone drove in that car for the first time, they would never know it was there. The loudest normal intake i've ever heard in a car (excluding blowers) is in my maxima. That thing is LOUD. Can't hear it when driving normal but at WOT, it gets loud as hell. I wouldn't doubt the intake is louder on that car than an exhaust would be. Everytime I race someone they ask me what the hell you got in that thing? I expected the intake in the camaro to be a little louder than it was. I was also looking for a nice sound but I didn't get it. Oh well. Time for cut-outs.

Re: loudest intake setup?

test drove it today... theres definitely a little more noise there, but its difficult to hear it over the exhaust anyway, even with the cutout closed.

Re: loudest intake setup?

When I put my Moroso cold air on briefly before my catback I believe it increased the sound of wind or sucking a little, but it wasn't tooo noticeable. After the catback and especially gutted cat and headers I don't really hear intake noises much.

Main thing mine does is everytime I turn the car off just as it quits there is a quite noticeable short distinct "exhale" sound from the filter/intake area that started w/ the Moroso. It's pretty weird, does everyone's do that?

I certainly wouldn't change your intake around just for sound even if some of them were a little different.
