lost oil pressure

ive done a search and cant find what im looking for. so i have this camaro i plan on looking at in the next couple days, owner said he was driving it and it lost oil pressure after the head gasket was replaced, mechanic said its just the head, and the actual motor is fine, but wtf could be wrong with the head? im thinking its probably more along the lines of the oil pump but unsure. you guys have any advice

You need to provide the specifics of the engine you are asking about.... year, number of cylinders, etc. That way we can move the post to the correct "engine" tech forum.

Did it leak oil out,or just lose pressure?Make funny noises? You didnt give much info. First thing to check would be the sending unit. Its on the rear drivers side, right behind the intake.Might just be the wire is off.
