Re: loping?

loping is the sound at an idle that kind of sounds like a missfire or uneven idle. If installed correctly you should have no problems. Difficulty pretty much depends on who you ask just be very clean.

If you have to ask that question i suggest you pay someone to install a cam for you.

Re: loping?

Lope is the sound some cams make from changing the speed the valves open and close.

Re: loping?

Are you planning on installing the cam yourself?

Changing the speed the valves open and close at would have to do with the lobe the cam is ground on and actually has nothing to do with th elope of the cam shaft. Changing the LSA, which spreads the intake and exaust lobes further or closer is what causes your lope. The lower the LSA, the more overlap yop have, which inturn makes more lope. Upping the intake duration, spreading out the split, and lowering the LSA will have the biggest effect on sound. All 3 of the above add overlap.

Installing the kit yourself shouldn't be to hard as long as you have the right tools. When I did my first swap, I looked at it like this: If I do it and everything goes well, then I win. If I do it and cna't get it right, I'll have a shop finish it, and they'll probablly charge less because half of the job is complete already. Either way, you win. The most critical parts are making sure you get the cam in correct, keep everything clean, and TQ the heads properlly. After I did my first one, I couldn't believe I had been payin gpeople money to work on my car. I've never looked back since. There comes a point where you either have to learn or pay, so you have to decide on if you want to save, or spend for the rest of your modding time.
