Link Error w/ dyno???

Link Error w/ dyno???

I have a 95 z28 and i was wondering why evertime i get the dynostics done, it comes up "Link Error"...i was wondering if i have a wire disconnected somewhere?? can anyone tell me where this problems occuring??

Your 1995 is confusing to many shops..... Although your 1995 has a 16-pin OBD-II ALDL connector, it runs an OBD-I PCM. The shop is connecting an OBD-II scanner, and of course, it will not connect. They need to run an OBD-I scanner, with the proper "cross-over" connector.

so the cross over is already with the OBDI?? or do i have to get a cross over for it??

You need a "connector" that connects the data pin of a 12-pin OBD-II connector, to a 16-pin OBD-II connector, but with the data pin in a different position. Check:

AKM Electronics

He can fix you up with the correct connector. Or some shops may have the connector... I know Auto Xray supplies one with their OBD-I scanner. First, verify with the shop that the problem is what I described. It's about a 99% sure thing that this is the problem, but you should verify it.
