line lock for brakes

I am looking at ordering a Baer braking system for my SS. I figured at the same time I would order the line lock setup too. Has anyone used or installed this system to know how well it works and how easy it goes on? In case you are unfamaliar it allows you to lock only the front brakes at the push of a button. This way if you have a manual tranny you can lock the front brakes drop the clutch hammer the gas and do a burn-out. Much eaiser than trying to get your foot off of the clutch and onto the brake while still pressing down on the gas. Also easier on the braking system since the rear brakes do not get activated. Just a release of the button and the front brakes release and away you roll. At least that is how it is advertised. Just checking to see if it is as cool as it sounds

Works as described. I have the Hurst unit, but you can use virtually any solenoid that is designed for the high pressure of the braking circuit, including the low $$ Biondo. Mounts in the line for the front brakes, between the master cylinder and the ABS unit. Has no affect on ABS, but will light the "BRAKE" light when you engage it because of the differential pressure between the front and rear braking circuits. The light goes out when you release the solenoid.

The trick of installing in a 4th Gen is the "metric" fittings that GM uses, and the "mushroom" flare. It is possible to make you own lines if you can flare them, and Thunder Racing will sell you prebent lines with the correct fittings. You can't just buy a "standard" Hurst install kit, for example.

Excellent Thanks for the info. You are the first person I have heard that has used them. Sounds like it will be pretty sweet. Can't wait to order and install and watch all my friends faces
