Well a few days ago I got under my sig car to fix a blown collector gasket, after that was done i was running the car to listen for any smaller leaks and heard my lifters makin noise. I was planning on doing springs and 1.6 rockers next month, just wondering if i should just let them tap till then or go ahead and fix the problem now?

 

Lifters don't "back off"...I'll assume you meant your rockers are loose? If they're loose just pop off the valve covers and tighten them.

Letting them run loose is a great way to cause additional engine damage. Fix it now.

 

I agree with ramair. Lifters are deep inside the engine, you are talking about the rocker arms being loose. Four bolts gets the valve covers off, your talking about an hour job at the most. Just do it now or you could be looking at bigger problems later.

 

Ok my mistake it's just an old school term that my dad uses to indicate you have a loose rocker makes a tap noise on the valve covers, I've always been told it's not a must fix right away problem but I guess I'll have to get out in the cold and pop some valve covers off

 

The tap isn't the loose rocker hitting the cover. The rocker is not being held in full contact with the pushrod and the valve tip, and the noise is the impact of the gap closing when the pushrod rises to open the valve. You're hammering the valve train components.

 

Is there anything special about these that i need to know like, to torqe them to a certain amount?, im used to hydraulic sets that you basically just tighten down. Im a little confused on setting the lash ect. any advise will be appreciated

The lifters you have are hydraulic.

FWIW: Generally speaking, you set the lash on solid lifters and preload on hydraulic. Not trying to be an ***, just separating the two in case you didn't know.
