There's nothing to "understand" here. There's plenty example of "old parts" cars here not even breaking mid 12's @ 110's in the past with old MTI and GTP stuff. What I don't understand is why you think a car should run its full potential on its FIRST time out.

I also think your buddy is pulling one on ya if you really think he's running 255cfm LT1 heads going 124.
ive just never seen a NA car that didnt run the mph it was gonna run right out of the box. its already got gear, even though its not 60'ing it should run the mph. its running 1.9s, so its not that far off.

the race statement was a joke.

I gave my own car as an example.

cc503 cam'd car in **** weather went 105... better weather, gears, SAME setup it went 112.8 mph.

Car was a consistent 109-110 car in normal weather. His MPH will likely change after it's properly tuned with the right injectors, etc.

Like I said earlier if I owned a 396 and it only run 11.30 I would take it home and fix it.
I have 383 EFIs running a second quicker than that on motor.

yeah, just look at the car on AIs website. those automatic stroker cars are fast. especially when you take weight out of them.

Re: LE2 Heads LE4 Cam ET's

I guess my car is just plain slow I'm very happy with the times and speeds for my crap 60' times and crap weather, current tune car has 423rwhp and 410rwtq, when dynoing it i saw it hit 439rwhp just 2 pulls in then tuned it for drivability seeing the the injectors were maxed out. As far as stock shortblock cars most go bout 117-118 i already went 118.9 i know it has a 122 mph run in her. And i would love to pull up on any 350 lt1 on the highway. Cubes=torque=fast on the street. Maybe when i can cut a better 60' than 93turbo5oh's slow a$$ car it'll run in the 11.70's in the 120's.

CID won't do anything magically.

If I had a 396 and it only run in the mid11's I would take it home and fix it.
I have 383's running mid tens on motor with a 3500lb weight(close to stock).

If it don't run chrome it.
800fwhp REALLY? thats probably really streetable. What a solid roller w/ $4000 worth of heads on it Probably w/ a single plain intake too. Hell might as well get shaft mount rockers too Right? Sounds real feesable for a street car. Also running those times takes an automatic w/ full drag setup suspension. Full slicks w/ skinnies and weight reduction. Personally i love a 520hp street car w/ a/c that i don't have to lash the valves all the time and loosen the rockers every winter, and can drive anywhere. Oh and by the way everything is chrome already

Don't have to lash anything very often
3700lbs with driver.
Nothing chrome
GM EFI intake
Pump gas
solid roller
LCA's is all
DOT tires

Very street able but not a DD.Our shop car that is.
Didn't say yours was slow I was refereeing to 93turbo5oh's comment about a car where he lives.

No the stock stuff is good for what it is designed to do and that's all. This is the one I quoted in the post above and it still has a/c power windows, power steering and all it came with.

It says more progress on the main board.

Go here to see the interior of the shop car. FastFatBoy(son) got it pretty much together this weekend.A few little things to do yet though.

Re: LE2 Heads LE4 Cam ET's

Dont worry, you'll hit 95mph in the 1/8th no problem once the bugs are worked out... maybe even a little more in the right situation. Like I said, if my 368rwhp/336rwtq M6 3.73 Camaro runs consistent 90mph 1/8ths then you should easily kill that number with a good DA.

FYI for those interested ... the difference between 2.0 60' and a 2.6 60' for me was 1mph (went from 114 to 113mph). Spinning doesnt really affect mph too much, you'll still be ballpark.

There ya go. You'll get there! ET will definitely drop with better 60's, just not mph.

Depends on HOW bad you spin!
