yes, definitely get the heads ported.

That setup is pretty much like mine. The 503 has similar specs to my cam (226/231 559/569).

I'm not sure what I'd run, or what I'm putting to the ground, but the car is a whole new animal. Feels faster than it ever has. I've only taken it to about 6000, and it was asking for more...

I only took it to about 5k there.

You already know that the LT1's weakest point is the heads, so of course you need to get them ported. You'll def. regret it if you don't.

Just installed the cc503 cam with 1.6 rockers and ported heads that would flow about the same as the LE1's. I have no track or dyno numbers yet but it is a great combination in my opinon. Car sounds fantastic, drives like a stocker and pulls like hell....

hey bud, i have the cc503 also, but on stock heads with a 5 angle valve job and stainless valves. i know youve heard and seen mine (1fstss from mifbody) i go prety consistant high 12's n/a with my auto, shifting at 6k.

What lincoln said here also. Drives damn near stock until you use the go pedal. Then it pulls like one mean little puppy. I love my small cam. With the little bit of weight Iv'e pulled out and some good weather, it should crack a high 11. Get some LE heads to go with that cam, you won't be sorry.

 

I have 93 with Hot Cam and LE1 heads. One pull is cut out open and closed. 130k on the motor.
