turn the motor over with a wrench and the plugs out. You'll know real quick if there's a clearance issue between the crank and pan.

you have to space the stock windage tray out and clearance the pan in the front slightly for it to clear. hope its an easy fix for ya.

Question Re: knocking noise coming from bottom end of my new stroker

I had to clearance my block, with my set up. I rotated the engine over by hand and checked one piston at a time. I also have stroker oil pan for extra clearance. Did you anything during the build? ray

Yeah, sorry to say, the stroker is probably making it's own clearance. Let us know what you find in there.

With my Callies 3.75" crank, it took no more than a couple gentle taps on the stock pan. What stroke are you running?

Re: knocking noise coming from bottom end of my new stroker

Although the block was clearanced the pan probly wasn't. On mine I had to drop the windage tray about 1/4", clearance the pan for number 6 rod at the pan rail and the front bottom of the pan for #2 rod. All pan clearancing was done with a brass rod and a dead blow.

Re: knocking noise coming from bottom end of my new stroker

Took it off this morning and the number 2 was rubbing, took a ball pein to it to make a little bulge, cleaned everything up and put 8 bolts in the pan, had to go buy some new oil because there was tons of shavings in the oil... fired it up and no more sound!! Made me pretty Happy! I had to take the bolts out of the pan 1 side at a time because i forgot the dumb reinforcement rails lol.. So I have 1 side all in and need to put 3 more in the other side(took a break to come eat and fill you guys in) already ate so now im going to go at it again!! hopefully that is the only problem.. might hook my exhaust up tonight to if I have enough time.. Thanks for the help and by the way it is a 3.75 crank.. hopefully if I can get it to idle tonight ill shoot a video or 2 so you guys and hear my cc xfi292 thumping ;-)
