Knock sensor question

Knock sensor question

Other than just putting a socket on the knock sensor and removing it, are there any other things I need to do prior to taking it off?

From: Hell was full so they sent me to NJ

Be prepared for coolant to pour out the hole.... the KS is screwed into the block drain hole.

So it can be done without draining the coolant by quickly putting my thumb over the hole?

i suppose so, but it will be messy. taking the knock sensor out is the only way to drain the coolant from the pass side block. just put a pan under it and drain it, then replace KS and coolant.
