knock retard

My camaro is pulling 1degree of time at idle and 2 degrees at wot, I replaced my knock sensor same thing and my knock module with no diff made, i also checked my wire to my knock sensor it has the 5v with wire off like it should and the sensor has 3800ohms of resistance and spec is 3500 to 4500 so thats good. so i put a resistor 3800ohm from the wire to ground. and the car still pulls 1 degree at idle and 2 degrees at wot, any know why this is?

I am pretty sure tha 1-2 degrees will not hurt performance.
Do you have the LT4 knock module?

Re: knock retard

Thats a good one, I would suspect the pcm also. Did you try just leaving the wire unpluged? You might try the computer diag forum if you dont get answer here.

Re: knock retard

Any possibility you have a high voltage (plug) wire running right next to the knock sensor harness?

Re: knock retard

There are no plug wires around the knock sensor wire i moved them all. and if i unplug the wire it pulls 12 degrees at idle then from 1500 up it doesnt pull any timing.

Re: knock retard

With the 3800 ohm resistor in the circuit, what is the voltage measured across the resistor?

Re: knock retard

Try some race gas, see if it goes away. If it's real spark knock, it should disappear with race gas. If it does, tune might need a little less timing.
