3.73 is the right gear for an auto... and you don't need a bigger than stock converter to race on the street, being that it could potentially hurt you due to wheel spin.

PS. Your manual sucks goat nuts.

i had the same thing happen to me when i first bought my car. i handt even gave it a tune up. he said his only mods were long tubes, a tune and an 'upgraded pulley' which i thought ment underdrive crankshaft pulley, i found out the bad way that they are supercharged

01 cobras from what I've seen aren't slouchs themselves with good drivers, I've ran into 2 on the street and a guy I know's dad had a 01 vert a couple years ago. The thing didn't feel that strong riding in it at all, but the results on the street were a bit different. He also ran 13.7@104 bone stock. He out ran a buddy of mine in his 01 GT that ran 13.4@102 with bolt on's with 5 people in the car to my buddies 3.

Looking forward to it.

PS. My times are in my sig... I'm not trying to say I'm fast.. Just saying your comment was quite base-less and absent of anything valuable.

They have? Since when? The 96-98 Cobra's ran dead even with LT1 Z28's.

I'm glad general motors came out with a supercharged truck to compete with the lightning. Oops, did I say compete? I meant spank that ***.

I'm so tired of this supercharger bull****. I think chevy should supercharge the new camaro, the corvette, and go crazy with the silverado.

Thats funny that the cobra is comparable to the camaro. I think its more on a corvette level, yet NA camaros are spanking them left and right.

My car also has 145,000 miles no leaks (knock on wood) so I Know rebuild is in the future. thanks

I thought there was no 02 cobra?? there was in 01 and 03, but not in 02.

What supercharged truck does GM make?

Do headers and you should be fine.
Wow. So you are saying that a simple header swap will save him? That's funny. Get real.

N/A Cobra = Headers and a lumpy cam
03 Terminator = Stroker, LT's and alittle nitrous

GM's new supercharged truck goes by the name of the Joe Gibbs Performance Silverado. It make more power than the lightning does with less boost.

Yes 01 Cobras are pretty stout, about like the Mach1's. I watched a stock 01 put down 286 to the wheels on a dynojet. I beat an 01 conv with a Mac catback and X pipe by 3 carlengths to 105. The guy said his best time in the 1/4 was a 13.3 @ 106. Add 4.33's to them, and they really wake up.
