Question just gave my LT1 a bath and.... HELP!

So I read that we arn't supposed to "power wash" the LT1 due to some "opti" thing, but my engine was really pretty dusty.

So I spent the last 3 hours using duct tape and garabage bags to seal up the engine bay so I could give it a gently cleaning... you know, like a bath tub. So anyway, I figured I better not pull a bone-head manuver and decided to removed the battery and PCM before filling up the "tub".

I added a cup of laundry detergent and have been stirring this thing for 20 minutes when I realized the intake manifold wasn't getting cleaned, but I can't seem to get the back of the intake at all.

So my question is.... is it "ok" to power-wash the EGR stuff at the back on the manifold? The opti should be fine right? I mean, it's totally under water right now and can't possibly be hit by high-speed spray...

Also, does the oil dip stick has a rubber seal on it?

at this point you might as well keep cleaning, because I'd be willing to bet that thing is shot and won't be starting, or if it does, is going to be popping and missing so bad you're not going to be able to get anywhere.

Exclamation Re: just gave my LT1 a bath and.... HELP!

Hmmm... you sure? I mean I took steps to seal it up... I poured hot wax down the vent tube until it was full... I was SURE the water wasn't gonna be a problem.

OH CRAP
