Jet Hot LTs question

Im trying to figure out what headers im going to get. I just removed my 1 5/8 BBks. Im wanting to step up to long tubes. I was lookin around and I found Jet Hot LTs for 550.00 with no y pipe. Is this a good price? Also i was wondering how hard the install is on these headers? I already have the starter out, y-pipe, and steering shaft. Should they go in pretty easy if i get them? Thanks

Kepe an eye on the Group Purchase section of this board. Jet Hot has another group purchase coming up in a few weeks (possibly sooner), and you can get the coated Hooker LT's for I think $525 shipped.:

I have them, and I like them. If you have experience installing LTs, then it's not bad, just be prepared for spending a whole weekend if you haven't done LTs before. The power increase over shorties is awesome.

Its alot of work . If you have not done this before , I would advise you have someone else do it . It gets frustrating very quickly . IMO .

I don't think you need to get someone else to do it. Just set aside 3 long days, and don't get too aggrivated. And yes to get the passenger side in you have to jack up the motor a little. Not that big of a deal. I had to remove the ac compressor to get the engine mount bolt out though.

I agree with the above post. Its time consuming...but actually fairly easy. Just make sure to have a second set of hands. I did it over the course of a week along with !AIR and !EGR working a couple hrs a day on it basically by myself....not fun. I got mine from Jet-Hot on a GP last summer. They happen all the time and definitely worth the wait. Especially since You'd save at least $40-50.
