I'll try to get some pics of mine. It looks like you have 2 bends in it. Are ALL the bolts on that side of the header bolted up? Did you jack the engine up with the stearing linkage still on the car? Does the shaft look bent or damaged at all?

we took the steering linkage off before jacking the motor. The motor is lowered back down now. The shaft looks good, and the header bolts are all tight.

found the problem, someone put a ls1 rack and pinion and steering linkage on it. now I have to find out what to do, either replace the rack and pinion and steering linkage or try to work something out with the #1 primary tube.

unless someone else has a better idea.

That'll do it. LS1s dont have a rag joint and the shaft will interfere with lt1 headers
