Its done LE2 heads LE1 cam

Well i finally got it together and started up on the first crank amazing. Well there are some down sides i WElded the pipe to the ypipes and stock catback so now i have to save up some money to throw a cat back on and a real catback system.. my welds suck. and its leaking oil i belive out of the timing chain Anyone know if i can just drop the pan and reseal it that way or do i have to tear the whole front end off again .. but other than that all i have to say is it is incredible awesome job track numbers as soon as i can get out there. but wow what a difference.

If it's leaking from the timing cover then yes you'll have to drop the pan. It's probably the waterpump drive seal, or maybe the opti seal leaking. You can buy the three seals for the front cover (crank, opti, W/P) and replace them yourself pretty easily if you have the cover off.

Congrats on getting it together!

I second the water pump drive seal. It's common to nick the seal when putting the cover on. Try using electrical tape over the drive gear when you put it on so that doesn't happen.

If it's the water pump seal you can replace that without removing the timing cover. Remove the water pump and pry out the old seal. Take a small 1/4" drive socket and slide it over the pump drive shaft(it should cover the splines, and the seal should slide over the socket) THen gently tap the seal home with a larger socket. Works every time.
Hope this helps.

Use "The Right Stuff" gasket maker for the timing cover. It worked for me before my rebuild.

I bet the gasket is not seated right in the bottom of the timing cover, only way I see of fixing it is going to be to loosen the pan and get the gasket straightened out, you may not have to disturb the cover itself though.

thats what i was thinking (and hoping for).Through stock exhaust with a homemade welded up straight pipe that rattles against the car.... it sounnds awesome. Monday have a cat put back on and welded up correctly then i have to choose a catback system to put on there.
