Issues with reading / running with PCM

Hey all.

With the RX7, it has never been very good at reading with a lot of missing data always. However, now that I have replaced the engine, I have issues.

First was not reading at all and was not starting after the engine swap. I then found the ground down by the Knock sensor that was unplugged and rewired it to ground. THEN it reads and started up but still only intermittent reads but it runs great.

Now I go button it all up and go to run it on the road. Start it up but I only get about 3 bits of data from DataMaster and the car runs about 1 minute then just dies and won't restart and won't read via DataMaster.

I see there are 2 sources for power to the PCM but can only find 1 going in and can only find 3 of the grounds called out from the PCM where there are about 5 (can't remember for sure). Now the car did run fine before and nothing has changed other than the engine swap.

Granted this setup is pretty hacked up but there has to be some basic things for me to look for.

Can someone just give me some direction to go with this?

Thanks all.

What year engine and PCM are you using? What engine did you have in the car before the "replaced" engine? Not enough background to clearly understand the issues and how they developed. Have you looked over the PCM wiring diagrams on Shoebox's website?

It is a 95 PCM and engine and yes I looked over the wiring diagrams.

I changed out the PCM and now the car runs but this bothers me since I have heard over and over that PCMs dont go bad.
