intake question LT1 verses TPI
Thanks for the reply, The motor that I am going to put in the car is out of my truck with the TPI allready on it and the motor that is in the car has the LT1 thats why I wanted to know witch one would be best to use I dont know much about the LT1 but I have been playing with the TPI for a while.
If I understand your question, you are putting a Gen 1 SBC from some truck into a 94 Camaro. Then you are going to supercharge it. The LT1 intake would need to be converted to work with the Gen 1 SBC heads. There's an outfit that does it, including addition of the hole for the distributor and the water connections, because its a popular swap into the 3rd Gen F-Bodys. I've seen the LTx intake support 1,125HP on a blown 383ci LT1, so it would appear to be a good choice. The long runners of the TPI intake probably are not going to offer any benefit in blower setup, probably more of a hinderance.
Thanks for your reply Fred I looked at your car very nice. The motor I built already has the newer heads that will work with the intake I converted the TPI intake to work with that motor I only put about 50 miles on it when I decided it would be best in a car so I got the camaro to put it in. I am also running a th400 trans with a manual valve body. Is there any thing I should know about installing it in this car /speed cable, trans suport, ect./ ?
