Intake manifold leaking?
Intake manifold leaking?
Hey just wondering will a intake manifold leak would cause smoking out the exhaust at wot?I just noticed the front of my motor is wet. It appears to be oil splattered all over everything and there was a little oil pooling up on top of the timing covering right beneath the manifold. And I pulled the PVC valve and it had a little oil in it.
Have you checked the crankcase for excessive blowby? That will cause smoking at high RPM, and pressure in the crankcase can blow oil past the seals on the front and rear of the engine. The fact that you have oil in the PCV valve may indicate a high loading to the valve, entraining oil droplets from under the bottom of the intake manifold (or someone left the baffle pan off the bottom of the intake manifold).
At idle, pull the oil fill cap off and feel for puffs of air blowing out the fill cap or a 'chuffing' noise.
