Intake leak damaging clutch?

I just read that one person said that his intake leak killed his clutch. I just replaced my clutch and my intake is leaking a tiny bit. Can that intake leak actually do something bad to the clutch? I thought that there was a cover around the clutch to protect it.

Thanks for you answers,

Jacques.

You best get that leak fixed ASAP my friend, the oil leaks through the bell housing.... and in slight long terms WILL KILL THAT NEW CLUTCH... Trust me....

If you leave it, oil will get on your disk (with the friction material) and will ruin it. Your clutch will start to chatter. The only cure then is a new disk. I just replaced a disk that had plenty of wear left, but was unusable from the leak.

I had an intake leak for two years and oil never touched my clutch.
