Knock sensor - DTC 43

i purchased a new knock sensor back in april and now im getting a code DCT 43 for the sensor
whenever the motor is like above 2000rpm the SES light will go on
unless i drive it @ really low rpms it usally takes a while to go on
you think i shoould just replace the sensor and go from there?
Does gm have any type of warrnety on these bad boys?
it all started when i had my cutout open in a tunnel and goin WOT
i got the PCM reset and veerything and it kept re-appearing but showed no knock w/ the scan tool
btw i got a ODBI if that matters

Did you change to the 93-95 knock sensor when you swapped the PCM to OBD-I?

Is it possible you have an intermittent wiring problem? Have you checked for +5V at the harness pin, not connected? +2.5V between the harness pin and the engine block with it connected? 4,000ohms from the sensor pin to the block, harness not connected?

You don't need to access the PCM connection end....

Go under the car.... pull the connector off the KS and probe with the voltmeter from the single wire in the harness connector to the block, with the key on, engine not started. Should read 5.0V +/- 1V.

Then, with the connector still off the KS, probe from the single pin on the KS to the block, and you should see 4,000 ohms.

Then put the connector back on, key still turned on, and measure the voltage from the KS pin to the block... .2.5V.
