intake elbow silencer?

intake elbow silencer?

does the silencer in the intake elbow really make a difference performance wise? or is it just for the sound? thanks

no differance in either...just removed it bc its always in the way when working...

You HAVE to remove it for an electric water pump.

I would imagine it is in the way, since the E-pump protrudes out the front of the pump housing.

That is the reason. They (EWP's) stick out so far you have to cut the fans a little, and there is NO way getting around taking out the silencer.

is there an easy way to get rid of the silencer other than those now hard to find MBA plugs or a 1LE elbow?

i just took the tube out and covered the opening with some electrical tape and made sure it wasnt going anywhere and shoved it up farther than its suppose to be and its almost perfect. just a temp fix. so the big tube is still hanging there for now. i want to get a new polished elbow soon.
