ok stock(non-1le) vs. 1LE .. sorta.. 1le has no silencer basically right? so i remember reading on here somewhere that there was a shampoo bottle cap that just happened to be shaped like the silencer inlet.. i think i found it cemented the lid to the cap closed and stuck it in there (its not on the car YET) i wanna see what everyone thinks.. whats the best way to make a stocker like a 1le and i know someone on here used this method cause i remmeber reading it on here lol. just wanna get some ideas before i actually put it on the car i can get pics if anyone needs an idea

 

I don't understand the point of trying to make a stocker into a 1LE elbow. You won't really gain any flow/hp. Most people want to get rid of the "donkey dong" because it can get in the way of an electric waterpump. The only reason i have a 1le is because i ripped my stocker. To me it just seems like a way to create an air leak that the MAF won't see.

 

i know its not gonna leak, i checked that really well. electric waterpump sounds like a good idea though i was planning on that eventually and just figured while i had this one off anyway ild fool around with it a bit (had to take the end off to clean it really good before putting it on the car)

 

What exactly does the tube hanging out of the elbow do? I have a stock non 1LE with the tube. I just bought a 1LE elbow cause the stock one is tore. Is there any reason that I need to have the tube there, or any benefit to not having it?

 

As mentioned in the first post, it is a silencer. It cuts down on noise from the intake plumbing. There is no harm to run without one, as the 1LE elbow came equipped on a stock car.

 

I've got the regular elbow with a delete of the silence for the purpose of the nossle will be hidden there.

 

I think the 1LE sounds cool.
