Instant loss of power plus SES light

I was leaving the store and waiting to pull onto the road when the car almost stalled and the SES light came on. The car still ran but was misfiring and felt very gutless. I have a laptop and an aldl cable and I was wondering if anyone knows of any free software i could download to scan the codes for OBD1.

Thanks

Thanks alot Freescan worked for me and the issue wasnt as bad as I expected. I made a VATS bypass and it had shorted out so all it cost me was some electrical tape. Thanks again.
