installing rail mount fuel pres gauge, need thread sealant?

i'm installing a fuel pressure gauge on my lt1 fuel rail where the schrader valve is. I didn't know if i needed to apply any teflon tape or special thread sealant or anything.

thanks

If there is a rubber gasket w/in the hose connection then no. If there isn't... I'm a big fan of teflon paste. Much easier to apply than tape.

Agreed, I prefer a light film of teflon paste over the tape.

actually there is no 'hose' or anything. i got a couple brass fittings to make a 90 degree if i need to, and then there's just the gauge.

i'm also a fan of the paste, it can get a little gooey at times though. I also didn't know if teflon junk could stand up to fuel or not.
thanks

The Schrader valve is a -4AN fitting. You should not use any sealant on the conical surfaces of the fitting, and no sealant is necessary or recommended on the -AN threads. If you are screwing together some sort of external NPT thread fittings to adapt to the Schrader, teflon tape or paste sealant is used on the NPT threads.
