installing fuel pump

I have a 94 z28 with a A4 and was wondering how hard it is to put a fuel pump in it and will a bigger than stock help it perform any better. My problem is in second around 4500 to 5500 rpms it acts like it got a surge in it. It dont seem like it is missing. I have changed the plug and wires and put a msd blaster coil on. It just acts like something is pulling it back.

Thanks fellas for any help
Josh

Re: installing fuel pump

I just bought an aftermarket in tank fuel pump. If you go the route of dropping the rear and pulling down the tank then id say its a hard job. Most people opt to cut a "trap door" behind the back seat and cut down the install time/difficulty dramatically.
