Info on tornado air
call up a dyno place, say you want to test this tornado thingy for free, and if it doesnt have any gains that they can be part of a false advertising lawsuit
I doubt that will work, but worth a try
or why not just take a tin can, cut some vertical slits, bend them all one way and put that in, that way you dont even have to buy it

I wish I could remember where I seen the ad, but It was showing gains from one of these devices of various cars/trucks. Anyway the unit took a Civic from 70 fwhp to 110fwhp, now that is a very lofty claim in my mind, that is too big of a jump even for promotional use IMHO.
I called bs on this ****ing thing the second they started describing how it "worked". Ok it swirls the air down the intake past the MAF sensor some how and then what? Hits the throttle body butterfly and stops. And if the swirl makes it past there? Does it separate into 8 swirling streams of air and take 90 degree turns down each of the intakes runners to better mix the fuel and make 10-20% (30-60 hp) more power? Which is the only place it would matter to have swirl other than in the heads and entering the combustion chamber which are farther down the line than that right? I wouldnt test it but if you want....
OK guys, I have a product & planning manager from Balkamp Inc. sending me one for free (NOT from Tornado, they haven't replied to me yet, hehe ~figures), Franker is providing the webspace for a write-up, and I went by Turbo Technology today and they are giving me the dyno time to test it as well, and they want to do some testing of their own on it too.
I'll post a write-up on it as soon as we get the results...

what the REALLY needed to do .. was to come up with 8 baby tornados to weld in ur intake runners along with papa tornado in ur air filter, mama tornado in ur catback, and 2 little cousin tornados behind the TB blades
next thing u know ur shooting the sequal to twister just drivin around in ur car
but i wonder, how would exh flow respond to this tornado effect ?! there is a reason why bullets get spun in a gun to increase muzzle velocity ...
im copyrighting this idea !!! if someone made an exh tornado and made a difference i WANT MY ROYALTIES
athankyou.

bullets get spun in a gun to increase stability as it becomes a rotating object when it leaves and is much harder to change its angle on the centerline of rotation (so air doesn't make it spin in wierd directions). Rifling actually decreases muzzle velocity as they have to carve into the bullet and spin it, creating tons of friction. Because of this however modern bullets can now be made with a cone shape that drastically decreases air resistance over a simple ball, so thats where you get the better range and accuracy (along with more accurate machining, better propellants, etc)..
As far as a tornado working...as soon as it hits any of the other myriad of restrictions in the intake tract its going to stop rotating and/or become turbulent again, so I really don't see how this could work.

Okay I will admit it.. I bought one when I had my 2.8 third gen. Did I notice anything, no.. I left it in and sold it with the car. Would I buy it again, No. Why did I buy it I was looking for anything to help my 2.8...
Now I have a 97LT1 and only serious mods for it.. Like an eletric supercharger

Update.....
Well guys, unfortunately I got deployed before I got a chance to do any testing.
I still plan on testing it when I get back. At least I'm still stateside, albeit on the East Coast here in Charleston, S.C. launching C-17's over to "the other side".
Can't wait to get back home!
