Important Thread- ARP Main bearing Bolts
Alright. I have seen a lot of post about your ARP main bearing bolt studs being too short to accommodate the windage tray.
My ARP bolts on my 355 are too short to accommodate the windage tray. THe crank and rods will hit it.
I called up ARP and they said they carry two sizes. The short 5.350" bolt/stud for small blocksand the 5.750" bolt/stud for 400 big blocks.
He assured me that the they have never had problems with the 5.750 clearing for windage trays.
So before u order your arp main bolt kit make sure you order the 5.750" bolt/studs. Unless u have a canton with built in tray and baffles and dont need the stock windage tray.
Anyways I'll be following up this thread to make sure the 5.750" clears when i recieve them. This bolt is 1/2 an inch longer and should just clear.
ARP customer service was great too. they sent the 3 studs for free.
