Do you have a free scan tool (or one you bought)? Will it connect?

With the fans operating but you getting an error code... doesn't sound good

The same thing happened to me when I did my PCMforless tune. If the flash goes wrong, the two small chips inside become corrupted. I got my fix by paying for an exchanged PCM from ION (madwolf) with a ZIF socketed board to future proof myself against a bad flash. The ZIF sockets allow you to replace the corrupted chips yourself. So basically, you need to get in contact with ION and do a PCM swap.

yep, i've had the same thing happen before during a read. it can be plain scary when the car doesn't start afterwards. i always do a read before i attempt to flash the pcm. glad it worked out.

Ahh... that is a HUGE difference than it crapping out on you during the WRITE which is what it sounded like happened from what you said in your original telling of the tale Had you mentioned it happened during the READ, I would have told you to just pull the PCM fuse for a minute

Well, I just happen to have experience in this area and know that most all the time a failure on a READ is no biggie and can be easily "fixed" by resetting the PCM. However, a failure on the WRITE is a different story
