over the past like 6 days my car has had this hesitation and it seems to be getting worse and worse but is only really bad when the car is really hot and the check engine light will flash but will go off i was thinking it was my plugs im not sure if they have ever been changed so i looked at one and it looked like it was fine but just old the only thing i have gotten done to my car and it does tend to blow a little black smoke when i rev it i am just clueless and the hesitation only happens when the car is between 1000-2000 rpms at any speed but its particularly in first and second gear i just need help i cant figure out what is wrong!!!

 

By all means, change the plugs as soon as you can but consider the EGR. Typical hesitation problems at slow speed is usually due to a sticking EGR. Best to take it off, clean it, test it by sucking on the hose and letting off to see if its moving correctly and replace it with a new gasket.
