I know a 12bolt/9" is way stronger. Would you see approx. the same gain from 4.10's in a 10-bolt as you would in a 12-bolt?
If I just throw in some 4.10's in the 10-bolt and run et streets a couple times I should be okay....right? By the way, what gains should i see going from 3.42's/2.3 60fts to 4.10's/1.8 60 ft's (hopefully)?

Will it be OK? I doubt it, but you may get those couple runs in before it goes BOOM. You do have a M6 car, right? I took out my 3.73s with a set of BFG DRs and I was on my 4th run with the combo. Good luck though
The only difference besides duribility is that the 12 bolt weighs more. And the 9 inch weighs even more still. So all things being equal the larger axles would cost you time. But then you have to consider the weight is right where you need it, on the rear axle....
I dont think the 10 bolt holds up well to slicks. especally not in a M6... You should work on pulling your 60 foot times down. you obviously had really bad tires or a bad track. most stock LT-1s can pull 2.0-2.2 60 foot times with a good driver....
