idling weird
Re: idling weird
Can you tell us the code that the scanner gave you? The problem is that most scanners use generic language and not LT1 specific information. The codes will help us sort this out.
If there are no codes, post that as well.
What I think would really help is if you could get a logging scan done. That would show what is going on in real time and not a point in time that the regular scanners show. If a logging scanner is not available to you, all you need is a laptop and a cable...there is software that can be downloaded.

Re: idling weird
Ok guys this is what the shop gave me i never heard of these codes but they used an old scanner. Its the only one they had for my car,but this are the results ive got
1630 system voltage error
1640 quad driver error
weak cylinder 6
Egr solenoid 1 on
Egr solenoid 2 off
Egr solenoid 3 on
322 signal error
Battery 55 % too low

Re: idling weird
Well, I didn't expect codes like those. I expected 2-digit codes like those found on Rob's page. I don't believe those numbers don't correlate with anything on a '94...but I'll leave it to those among us that know this better....
Re: idling weird
Yea dude i was hella confused too it looked to be way off but i didn't wanna argue with the guy,and i accepted what he gaveme, and the dealership didn't have a diagnosis tool for a 94. I was expected to look for double digits too for the codes

Re: idling weird
Hey a lil update i pulled the egr vacuum solenoid n looked at it, one of the hose has a small crack, also at the end of the solenoid the plastic nipple that the hose inserts is broken so i hope thats wat the issue can be.plus the part was only 20 n they had to order it so when it gets here ill give u guys the results
Re: idling weird
Hey guys i just got a call from the dealership and the results were
-i need a new computer (do i really need 1)
-egr valve is bad
-mass air flow needs to be replaced
-i need a new engine wire harness(do i really need that)
-broken pipehose
-last one she just said i had vacuum leaks, but before i i took it there i hear air leaking behind the intake manifold in the egr valve area but i couldn't see where

Re: idling weird
New computer and new wiring harness is just their attempt at throwing parts at it, removing variables rather than finding issues.
I'd for sure take the car elsewhere. I (and the rest of the forum would probably agree) think it's been documented that only VERY VERY RARE situations require new computers be installed. Like - car was under 8' of water type situations.
I don't think it's been mentioned but you can check for vacuum leaks by using brake cleaner and spraying it with the straw point directly at each vacuum connection, so you're sure you're testing just that location. Check all vac locations that way. Spray some around the injectors too, around the TB, IAC valve, back of intake, etc.
