I went over it with a fine tooth comb yesterday. Nothing loose or disconnected.

One thing I have learned is that the bad idle situation didn't present itself to the previous owner until he did an auto to M6 swap. Any ideas why this could be?

I have the idle problem but mine just drops way down...eventually it will come back up after stopping the car for a couple seconds. I also did an auto to m6 swap but it didn't start right away either.

I bet it has to do with the auto to M6 conversion. Because the Idle speed is different between the two. I wonder if the IAC is different between the two as well.

I wouldn't think the IAC is different, or did you mean the setting?

The computer was corrected with a manual chip from PCMforless.

Nevermind, I forgot you had a '93. We swapped a buddy of mines '95 to a M6 and he still doesnt have things working right. He found out that the only way to get it done right is to get the M6 computer.

I am not sure if the IAC setting would be changed or not? Was the chip put in the car when it was an auto?

Stock idle IAC counts are normally in the 20-40 range. A bigger cam usually makes the counts higher, but they sometimes can be manipulated through programming or by allowing more air into the IAC passages.

ok SHOEBOX, my counts are anywhere from 20-40 at idle and i have the cc305 cam in it. could this be my problem? a couple of times it would jump up to 46 or so. not often though. i can send you a copy of the log if you would look at it for me..

thanks

The car got a new chip at the time of the M6 swap.

I'm really inclined to think that it's a faulty IAC at this point due to the fact that it idles fine with the IAC unplugged. Hopefully, withing the next few days I'll be able to put a laptop on it and see for sure.
