iac position doesnt match iac target in data log
iac position doesnt match iac target in data log
upon looking at a datamaster log i noticed my iac counts do not match the iac target data throughout the whole 20+ minute log. the difference isnt just a little for example the target is 64 and the iac is in the mid to upper 90s.
so it seems as though maybe i need to clean it? hopefully not replace it but if i have to i have to. what is the best way to clean these i have read to not move the pintle and to not let any liquid/cleaner into the motor/electrical area.
this probably wouldnt have anything to do with why the short and long term counts are constantly pulling fuel would it?

Re: iac position doesnt match iac target in data log
There is no feedback regarding the actual IAC position. What you are calling the "target" should be a single number which is the position the IAC is supposed to take on shutdown, so it's at the right position for idle on startup. The other number is the commanded postion.... the position the PCM is telling the IAC motor to take, based on current engine operating conditions. There's no way to tell if its actually in this position.
IAC will not cause the PCM to be pulling fuel using the LT corrections.
