I want true duals and my car is lowered!!!

Someone please tell me it can be done. I want to put a cat in each pipe and some type of bullet muffler. Will doing that totally drown out the sound? I have heard of systems with 4 mufflers so I would think 2 would still be nice and loud.

Anybody out there have pics of a lowered car with true duals?

I have the intrax 2'' drop springs and Bilstein shocks. I plan on using Pacesetter longtubes into the exhaust.

2" is quite a bit of a drop. I'm 1.5" lower than stock.

I used chambered pipes. If you go over the axle you can put a bullet right before each tip.

Yes it can be done.

Can it be done? Yes..

Will it be practical? Not at all.

If you use 2.5" piping all the way back and have it tucked way up it should get you by but speed bumps, road construction, drive-way entrances, ect. will give you problems all the time.

So imo it's not worth it, but to each his own. Some people can get by with it and for others it's just a headache. Definatly think it through if the car is still your daily driver and talk with whoever you have put it on throughly, get the car on a lift and find the best route to tuck everything up close to the body.

If it was up to me, sell the lowering springs, put in the factory ones and use that money towards the exhaust.

Can't sell the springs. I love the look of them too much.

I am trying to find a way to do it. I don't scrape anything with the 2'' drop now, but I know this is going to be quite a bit lower.

Anyone have pics of a lowered car underneath?

Ive got 3" duals on my car, and I would never think of lowering the car. IMO you have to choose, duals or lowered...

pssst..... Jerry..... I'm running slp shorties, random tech dual cat Y pipe and a mufflex 4" with no clearance problems. You also know that I have the same springs. The only issue was that I needed the BMR panhard brace relocation kit for exhaust clearance. No scrapes, no banging, nada. The exhaust is definately throaty.

you can see that it is true duals until the rear of the Y pipe where it forms a single 3". That's where the 4" mufflex takes over.

Thanks, Joe. I thought about paging you over on F-body.com but it seems that there are more guys over here running true duals.

I love the springs and would never get rid of them.

BTW, where did you buy that relocation kit?

If you love the lowered look then I would forget about true duals.
In my opinion its impractical on a lowered car.
I had some problems at basically stock ride height so I would never even think about doing them to a lowered car.

BMR fabrication is just up the road from me.

http://www.bmrfabrication.com/F-bodySuspension.htm

This kit replaces the upper panhard rod support and relocates the panhard rod allowing enough room for up to dual 3" exhaust routing over the axle. Heavy duty tubular upper panhard rod support mounts in the original panhard rod location. New heavy duty brackets bolt to existing mounting holes and lower the panhard rod while maintaining the correct geometry. No welding or drilling required. Available standard in your color choice of red or black powdercoat, additional colors also available by special order.
